(1) MARCH FOR LIFE + THE DANGER ZONE DRAMA
The March for Life is THIS SATURDAY, JANUARY 18 in Concord.
This observance of 30 years of abortion on demand since
Roe v. Wade includes several events, any or all of which
you are welcome to attend. Full details, including a hint
about the dramatic performance called "THE DANGER ZONE",
and a map appears at:
http://www.nhrtl.org/publicaction/marches/2003/
Therein you’ll find a link to news of the Diocese program
extending for several days.

(2) NURSES FOR LIFE
A new organization is being planned: “Nurses for Life”. If you are
currently or formerly working in the medical profession, please contact
Betty Breuder for specifics. Use life@nhrtl.org or 603.626.7950.

(3) PRO-LIFE LEGISLATIVE INITIATIVES
The hardwork and sacrifice of pro-lifers led to the election of many new
and energized pro-lifers to the NH State House and Senate. Since the
November election, a wave of pro-life bills have begun the process, and
we plead for your help. To our knowledge, no pro-abortion bills have
been instigated (so far). Call your reps, go to the hearings where the
legislative committees will hear your comments, write letters to the editor,
etc. If a bill has an "LSR" it means it has not yet been assigned a real
bill number or a given a hearing date so far. To find out when the
hearing is, keep checking the NHRTL LEGISLATIVE webpage, call
the state house, or call your local rep. We need you to support these
bills your pro-life reps have sponsored:

LSR-106 "Choose Life" license plate legislation. The proceeds from
these voluntary vanity license plates will help to support adoptions
(in a fashion similar to the way the NH Moose Plates help raise funds).

HB-193 This bill establishes that New Hampshire recognizes that
life begins at fertilization. The Judiciary will accept public comment
at a hearing on Wednesday, January 29, at 9:30am, in Room 208 of
the Legislative Office Building (LOB), 33 North State Street, Concord.

HB-104 This bill implements procedures for a hospital assume care
and custody of an abandoned baby - the "safe haven" bill. The hearing
has already taken place, but read on for the following bill...

LSR-285 is the Senate bill identical to the House "safe haven" bill,
HB-104. Watch for the hearing date!

LSR-746 requires a death record for an aborted baby, including a
record of the disposition of remains.

LSR-346 requires parental notification before abortions may be
performed on unemancipated minors (below 18)

LSR-834 prohibits partial-birth abortions

LSR-877 repeals the law requiring NH town clerks to provide family
planning and pro-abortion Planned Parenthood material to all
couples applying for a marriage license

KEEP UP TO DATE ON THESE BILLS BY MONITORING:

(4) PENNA-PICKETS
The "PennaPickets" continue on the First Saturday of every month,
even FEBRUARY 1, from 10AM to Noon (or just until 11AM if it
is too cold!) The Planned Parenthood abortion house is at
the intersection of Pennacook and Elm in Manchester. It is
behind the Rite-Aid Drugstore, about 1/2 mile north of Manchester
City Hall, and just South of the Amoskeag Bridge. Details,
including photos and maps are at:
http://www.nhrtl.org/publicaction/PPManchester

(5) NHRTL-PAC PUSHES NHGOP TO ADOPT LAMBERT AMENDMENT
On January 25, THE NH Republican State Committee will
meet for many purposes, one of which is to consider a
by-law change offered by NHRTL Pres. Ed Holdgate. The
"Lambert Amendment" seeks to compel the NHGOP to cease
funding those GOP candidates who resist attempts to
outlaw the heinous and bloody partial birth abortion
procedure. This Amendment has been passed THREE TIMES
by the duly elected NHGOP Delegates to the Convention.
Details at: http://www.nhrtl.org/pac/
It is in the NHGOP Platform (along with the pro-life
plank) at http://www.nhgop.org/resources/platform.htm#edu
Alas, the platform is not binding and the more
"establishment" Republicans -- some who claim to be
very pro-life -- decline to put their money where their
mouth is: they ignore the Platform wishes of the
pro-life Delegates. The NHRTL-PAC is consequently
leading the fight to "promote" the Lambert Amendment
into a binding BY-LAW during the January 25 NHRSC
meeting. PLEASE CONTACT YOUR GOP STATE REPS TO IMPLORE
THEM TO ATTEND THE JAN.25 MEETING (10AM, Capitol Center
for the Arts, 44 South Main, Concord) AND ASK THEM TO
SUPPORT THE PRO-LIFE LAMBERT AMENDMENT TO THE BY-LAWS.
Use http://www.gencourt.state.nh.us/ie/whosmyleg/
to see who your Reps are. ALL OF THEM WHO ARE REPUBLICAN
ARE ELIGIBLE TO VOTE AT THIS NHRSC MEETING. THANKS!

(6) Please hold our NHRTL Chaplain, Fr. James O'Connor, in
prayer as he continues his recovery. His work at the NHRTL
March and the Washington DC March will be missed this year!

(7) NH RIGHT TO LIFE COMMITTEE INVITATIONS
NH Right to Life is led by a 100% volunteer team, and we are
organized into six committees:
1. Communication (News, Tel. Tree, Alerts, Press Releases, Publicity)
2. Development (Fundraising, New Chapters, Planning/New Programs)
3. Finance (Treasury, Budget Planning, Assessment of Fundraising Programs)
4. Political (Legislation, Liaisons with Other Organizations)
5. Education (Educational Events/Conferences/Fairs/Banquet/Scholarship)
6. Public Action (March for Life, Witness Pickets, Signs/Posters, Leafleting)
Since it is a new year, we invite pro-lifers to sign up to help one of the
above committees. Send an inquiry to life@nhrtl.org or call 626-7950
for opportunities for you to get engaged defending the right to life.

A big thank you to our generous donors who empower NHRTL to
lead the pro-life community. We do not use annoying telemarketers
to raise money, nor do we hire professional fundraisers that end
up taking huge commissions from the money raised. We are 100%
volunteer, so we ask you to keep those volunteer donations coming!
POBox 421, Merrimack, NH 03054. You may support “NHRTL”,
“NHRTL-PAC” or “NHRTL Educational Trust”. Only gifts to the
NHRTL Educational Trust are tax deductible per 501(c)3.

Hope to see you at the March For Life THIS SATURDAY, JAN. 18:

Thanks and His Peace to you!

Rescue those being led away to death; hold back those
staggering toward slaughter. If you say, "But we knew
nothing about this," does not he who weighs the heart
perceive it? Does not he who guards your life know it?
Will he not repay each person according to what he
has done? – Proverbs 24:11-12
